Age Ratings You Trust

This is the rating panel for all cinemas across the United Kingdom and it shows what film is suitable for what age range. The reason why there is age restrictions on film is because, film has violence within them and not every child is allowed to see certain violence for example: they may try and copy what’s in the film and try it on their peers and think that behaviour is actually acceptable because they have watch a film and it was okay then. For example in 1993 James Bulyer was been kidnaped by two 10 year olds who previously watched a film that had violence where they witness someone been put on a train track. Therefore they think it was okay to try and do this to someone else and actually see what would happen as a result the toddler died. So that’s why it’s really important to have age restrictions on films so that crimes like this will not repeat itself again in the future.

My film rating would be suitable for only 18 years and older because, I think that they would actually be a mature audience to watch my film. In addition they would have more understandable and not to do something stupid after watching this film. They would be teenagers who would be in year 12 or 13 maybe in university. My film also can be lesson also not only just fo0r watching it but teach them something. The reason why, I never said 12 is because there may be too much violence a use of bad language. By the age of 12 they are still young not even teenagers and can be quite disturbing for them to even watch. Also they may have flash backs from the film because they are still young and not quite understand life as yet.

Another reason is that our film has to be review before it can actually be showed in cinema so therefore we wouldn’t risk the chance of putting the film at a low age rating and then get complains and also get the film turned down so therefore will have to do what’s best for the film and also the audience. The audience is the one that will bring in the profit and they are the one that we should actually be making happy.
