Match on Action.

Match on Action is the editing of a film or a video using editing techniques where the editior  may cut from one shot to another thatmatch the first shot action. A common example for this is a man walking up to a door reaching for the knob. this create a sense of continity  the action normally creates a visual bridge in the film .

Match on action create a continuous sense of the same action rather than matching two seperate things together.  Match on action is when something happen, in the scene then there is a cut the same piece of action must also go on.  this is a example of contintue editing and this is very important in helping the audience about whats  happening. It match the samething each time.

Match on action occurs when an action that begins in one shot is continued or completed in the next. In an exterior shot Jade  opens the front door to a house. In the next shot the camera, now indoors, photographs her entering the house and closing the door.

Cuts are also defined by the manner in which you get from one shot to another, as well as by the content. Here are some of the most frequently used and discussed edits:

  • A cut is the simplest kind of edit. The shot just ends, with no editing effect added

  • Both side will need to be seen in order for it to be match on action.
